News from the Tourism Development Authority & Visitor Center
The Town of Beech Mountain benefits greatly from the work of the Tourism Development Authority. In addition to sharing the cost of the Beech Mountain Visitor Center and staffing it year-round, the TDA provides funds for many of the things that create the wonderful small-town feel that we sometimes take for granted. Do you love the fireworks in July? How about the Town’s landscaping? Our fabulous trail system?
Summer concerts at Fred’s and the Alpen Inn? The Town’s holiday lights? The “Explore Beech Mountain” app? The town trail maps? The Christmas parade? All these things are provided with funding from the TDA. This year, we’ve been able to fund even more for the town, including the following projects that are underway for 2021:
1. A radio channel for public safety and public information
2. Road signs on 321 and Buckeye Road to direct people to Beech Mountain
3. A new children’s playground at the Bark Park
4. A bathroom facility at the Bark Park
5. An excavator to be used to build and maintain town trails
6. The Town’s 40th Birthday Party and year-long celebration
